App Store 6.9-inch screenshot sizes: the exact accepted pixels

Apple's 6.9-inch iPhone slot accepts 1260×2736, 1290×2796, and 1320×2868 portrait screenshots. Here is when to use each.

The 6.9-inch App Store screenshot slot is now the top iPhone slot most teams should design around. The catch: Apple accepts more than one pixel size for that display class, so old one-number checklists can be misleading.

Accepted 6.9-inch portrait sizes

  • 1260×2736
  • 1290×2796
  • 1320×2868

Landscape is the same list rotated: 2736×1260, 2796×1290, and 2868×1320. Apple lists iPhone Air, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Pro Max, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPhone 15 Plus, and iPhone 14 Pro Max under this 6.9-inch display family.

How many screenshots

App Store Connect requires one to ten screenshots in JPG, JPEG, or PNG format. If your app UI is the same across display sizes and localizations, Apple says you can provide only the highest resolution screenshots required and let App Store Connect scale down.

Which size should you export?

If you are making a new master, use 1320×2868 for portrait. It is the largest accepted 6.9-inch canvas, and downscaling from a larger clean master is safer than trying to upscale later.
