— TL;DR
When you use lokal you agree to these terms. lokal is built and run by one indie developer. The product is provided as-is, and these rules describe how it can be used.
If you do not agree with any part of this page, please do not use the service. If something is unclear, write to hi@lokall.app and you will get a real answer.
lokal is an online tool that helps you translate the screenshots you submit to the App Store and Google Play. You upload a master screenshot, you pick the languages you want, and lokal returns screenshots with the text translated and the layout preserved at the exact target resolution.
lokal is not a localization agency. It does not replace human review, especially for marketing-critical copy. You stay responsible for what you publish on the App Store.
To use lokal you sign in with your email or your Google account. You must provide accurate information and you are responsible for everything done from your account.
You must be old enough to enter a contract in your country. lokal is not designed for children.
You can delete your account at any time from the Settings page. Deleting your account removes your workspaces, screenshots and history from active storage.
You agree not to use lokal to:
We may pause or close accounts that break these rules. Where possible we will tell you first and give you a chance to export your data.
lokal uses a credit system. One credit equals one screenshot translated into one language. Plans give you a monthly amount of credits. Top-up packs give you a one-off amount that does not expire.
Payments are processed by Stripe. lokal does not store your full card number on its own servers. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can change or cancel from the customer portal at any time.
Plan credits reset at renewal and do not roll over. Top-up credits stay on your account until you use them.
Because credits are consumed by AI compute the moment you use them, used credits are not refundable.
If you live in a region where consumer law gives you a cancellation window (for example the 14-day right to cancel in the European Union), that right still applies. Write to hi@lokall.app and your request will be handled in line with local rules.
You keep all rights on the screenshots you upload and on the translated screenshots that lokal generates for you. lokal does not claim ownership of your content.
You give lokal a limited licence to store your content and send it to the AI providers needed to run your job (see section 09). This licence ends when you delete the content or close your account.
You are responsible for making sure the screenshots you upload are yours to use.
The lokal name, brand, website, code and product belong to the person who built lokal. You cannot copy, resell, or pretend to be lokal.
To translate and redraw your screenshots, lokal sends parts of your content to AI providers. Today these include OpenAI (GPT Image 2, GPT Image 1.5) and Google (Nano Banana 2 and Nano Banana Pro). Each provider has its own terms.
lokal does not give your content to these providers for training. The data is sent only to run your job and to give you back the result.
Provider availability can change. lokal may add new providers, remove old ones, or move a feature from one provider to another to keep the service working.
lokal is a small product. Features may be added, changed, or removed. The service may be paused for maintenance or for reasons outside our control (for example an outage from a model provider).
We will try to give notice for big changes, but cannot promise an uptime number.
You can stop using lokal and delete your account at any time. lokal may close an account that breaks these terms, fails payments, or uses the service in a way that puts the product at risk.
When an account is closed, related screenshots, jobs and history are removed from active storage. Backups may keep copies for a short period before they are overwritten.
lokal is provided as-is. There is no promise that the service will be free of bugs, that every translation will be perfect, or that every export will be accepted by Apple or Google. You should always review the output before publishing.
To the extent allowed by law, lokal's total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid lokal in the three months before the claim.
lokal is not liable for indirect or consequential losses (for example lost revenue, lost users, or App Store rejections).
Nothing here removes rights you have under consumer law that cannot be removed by contract.
These terms are governed by the laws of [the country and region of the lokal operator — to be filled in], without giving effect to conflict-of-law rules. Disputes that cannot be solved through email will be brought to the courts of the same place.
If you live in the European Union, the United Kingdom, or another jurisdiction with mandatory consumer rules, those rules also apply.
When these terms change in a meaningful way, registered users will be told by email and through a notice in the app at least 14 days before the new version takes effect. Small fixes, like typos, are done in place.
For any question about these terms, write to hi@lokall.app. The email goes to the person who built lokal.
Items marked [...] still need to be filled in by the operator before publishing.
