How to test your localized screenshots

A short pre-submit checklist: read aloud, check overflow, verify CJK, match in-app reality, confirm dimensions.

You shipped translated screenshots. Before you submit, run this short test pass.

Read every line out loud

If you cannot read the language, ask a native speaker or use a second AI to back-translate. Back-translation catches most howlers in five minutes.

Check for overflow

German, Russian, Finnish and Hungarian often run 30–50% longer than English. Look for clipped words, ellipsis, or text touching the safe area edge.

Check CJK rendering

Open the screenshot at 100% zoom. Strokes should be sharp, not blurry. If a kanji looks like a smudge, the model substituted a wrong glyph; regenerate with a different model.

Match the in-app reality

Apple verifies that the UI shown in screenshots exists inside the app. Walk through the relevant screen in the localized build. If a label is "Save to library" in the screenshot but "Add to library" in the app, fix one of them.

Verify the dimensions

Right-click → "Get Info" (macOS) or open in Photoshop. The long edge must match the device class. 1320×2868 for iPhone 16 Pro Max master. Apple rejects mismatched sizes silently — your upload just fails.

Test on a real device

Change Settings → General → Language & Region to the target locale. Reopen the App Store. The listing should look right at a glance.
