Copyright and license agreement fields are easy to rush because they do not look like conversion copy. They still matter because they define who owns the app and what legal terms apply to users.
Copyright field
Apple's platform version reference says the copyright field is the name of the person or entity that owns the exclusive rights to the app, preceded by the year the rights were obtained. Apple adds the copyright symbol automatically.
License agreement
Apple provides a standard EULA that applies in all regions. You can also provide a custom license agreement that supersedes Apple's EULA for one or more regions.
Practical checklist
- Use the correct legal entity, not a project codename.
- Keep the year consistent with your ownership records.
- Use a custom EULA only when legal review supports it.
Source notes
Apple documents copyright under platform version information and license agreement under App information.
