Quick update for App Store screenshot specs: the iPhone 17 Pro Max uses the same 6.9" display class as the 16 Pro Max. Same screenshot resolution. If you already have a 1320×2868 master, you are done.
The numbers
- iPhone 17 Pro Max: 1320 × 2868 portrait, 2868 × 1320 landscape.
- iPhone 16 Pro Max: 1320 × 2868. Same.
- Older 6.7" Pro Max (15 / 14): 1290 × 2796.
Why the same?
Apple's screenshot requirement is tied to the display class, not the chassis. The 17 Pro Max has the same effective display dimensions as its predecessor. The internals changed; the pixel grid did not.
What does change
Lighting reflections, the Dynamic Island position, and a few system UI tweaks differ on the new device. None of those land in your screenshot unless you photograph the device itself rather than exporting from the simulator.
Practical advice
Keep your existing 1320×2868 master. Re-export only if you ship device-frame composites where the chassis is visible — those need the new 17 Pro Max frame to look current. Pure UI screenshots are fine as is.
